Lent Day 10 – The Lord’s Day is Not Fair

“The LORD’s way is not fair!”– Ezekiel 18:25

10.2-27

I take comfort in calling God my Father and identifying myself as His child. There is a feeling of security, peace, and belonging knowing God as Father. But there is one childish expression I find myself often times going back to that is embarrassing:
The Lord’s Way is Not Fair!

If I’m honest with myself, what I am really saying is:
“Lord, you are not doing things the way I want.”

The Lord responds:
“Is it my way that is unfair, or rather, are not your ways unfair?” (Ez 18:25)

Everything that I am and have is a total gift form God. In the joys and times of comfort, I should praise and be grateful. In the sorrow and pain, I should praise and be grateful. Nothing is owed to me, but everything is given to me.

So are the Lord’s ways fair?
No. He gives to me so much more than I deserve. Now it is my job to recognize that and respond with a grateful heart.
